28 Mar El Atlético de Madrid vs. Real Madrid is the most talked about game of the day
This past weekend was the 12th day of the League Santander tournament, and like previous days (link), we have analyzed the impact of these games and clubs on Twitter over the weekend.
In the time that has passed from Friday morning until early Monday to Tuesday morning, we analyzed 219,612 tweets sent by 123,250 users, which results in an average of around two tweets per person. The most mentioned club, like in all of the previouos rounds, is Real Madrid with about 40,000 tweets, making this the round with the most mentions so far. We can see their cloud of topics to the right.
The second most mentioned team over the weekend was Atlético de Madrid, with around 30,000 tweets. The third is Sevilla FC with less than 15,000 received tweets. We can see Seville´s cloud of topics to the left, with one of the most repeated terms being “3rd”, referencing that the Nervión team is third in the classification table of The League.
In terms of games, the most mentioned in this round, and in the league, has been #AtlétiRealMadrid which was played on Saturday night. We can see the cloud of topics on the right, where there are terms like “hat-trick”, referring to the three goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, y “partidazo”… This hashtag has received around 10,000 tweets over the weekend.
Another game, which closed the round was #LeganésOsasuna, two teams in need of points. Leganés is a club that has a lot of activity on Twitter, making campaigns that go viral. The match ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of the locals, y we can see how this result is one of the most popular topics. There is another topic, “atardecer otoñal” which is interesting, while alluding to the excitement in the stands appears “standing ovation”.
