09 May La Feria of Seville generates more than 4,000 daily tweets with the hashtag #FeriaSevilla17
The second biggest week of the year has alerady happened in Seville, la Feria, or “The Fair”, of April- a unique fair, for the first time having more days. In Twitter la feria is always very popular, for it is the first fair that opens during the season, and is well-known. With Opileak we analyzed around 30,000 tweets, which equals more than 4,000 tweets every day of la feria, sent by more than 20,000 users, which equals a little more than 1 tweet per person, a low average that indicates that many people interacted.
Nube de topics “Feria de Sevilla”
The most used hashtag was #FeriaSevilla17, and this is the first time that Sevillans chose the days of their feria, which has generated much debate. The words “Feria de Sevilla” were included in around 10,000 tweets and its cloud of topics is what we see to the right. The most repeated term is “Feria de Sevilla” followed by very popular terms such as “horse”, “casetas” and other curious words, like “grandparents”. Also appearing is “bulls” o “banderillas”, which are taurine, or bullfighting terms.
The words “Feria de Abril” were also included in more than 12,000 tweets.
